Fractured (The Status quo)  

Fractured, the default state of every man brought about by the fallen nature which has subjected the world to fall.

It is an ancient story that started in the garden. Something looking so harmless and attractive, perceived to have great potential, a romantic gesture, had in it a poison called sin whose antidote was not of earth realm. An eternal offering whose price far outweighs everything else put together. In a twinkle of an eye, with one bite, an act of love turned sore, tearing apart the strongest of bonds known to man at the time.

It’s amazing how man who is made in the image and likeness of God, created to love, thrive and coexist in unity became altered through the nature of its new found master SIN. Consciously accepting the counsel of devils, he is faithfully mentored in a whole new pattern of life subjecting him and others to experiences he never should know.

Sin through ages has metamorphosed into different forms clinging ever tight to its one desire; the hearts of men.

So here we are, still battling this age old enemy, a great masquerade that has fractured our vision and perception, we barely recognize ourselves let alone discerning our purposes. Its trick is working perfectly, for while we are lost and at logger heads, we cannot progress. Just as the Bible says; a house divided against itself cannot stand (Mark 3:25). So we hurt each other intentionally and otherwise. It’s become the survival of the fittest.

Frankly, sometimes we don’t know any better. This was how we were born, probably how some were trained and it is what we may have embraced as the new normal.

This new normal, has made us live far less beyond our potential. What happened to the command “be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it”? How about the thousands of promises and prophecies sent for us? How about the ‘true normal’?

God’s plans and purposes are eternal and they remain, yes they do. The past is never a valid excuse to pursuing a better present and future. ‘It is finished’ happened a long time ago and paved the way to live in your designed reality but it doesn’t come automatic. It is a partnership.

So the question is;

WHAT HAVE YOU EMBRACED AS NORMAL?

Beyond the white coat

It's been two(2) years of practice as a Medical Doctor and the journey has come in different shades with every experience stretching me beyond the previous limit and pushing toward something better. Medical practice has been a blessing, not that it comes with a lot of benefits but because I get to serve selflessly and see the smile of a patient that gets better. As a reflect today, I wonder if, asides family members and close associates, does the world really see beyond the white coat? Pardon me if I'm wrong, however it seems to me that the world sees a help, a hero/heroine, a doctor, "the favoured specie",  just someone paid to take care of health issues and that person has to be available when needed no matter the timing or circumstance but is that all about us? Do you remember doctors are humans? Do you recognize that they have a life outside work with responsibilities just like you? Do you know the traumas? Do you see the scars? Fear the controller

Fear; False Evidences Appearing Real, whoever defined it in those terms was right. Famous fear, thriving in the mind and exploring the senses; its name sending chills down the bodies of millions maybe billions; a jailer with trophies to its name. As a child I was afraid of the dark, somehow, I was made to believe that there was a nameless monster waiting in the dark to grab me. It was so bad that once it was dark, even with the lights on I wouldn’t go for an errand alone and guess who I carried along? My kid brother. It’s funny right? Yes, it was that bad. Even though over time, I have been able to conquer fear of the dark I have come to realize with time that it wasn’t just that particular fear that had me in its control. Oh! I discovered that there were other aspects of my life that were in its control. For instance, the fear of heights but I think the worst for me was the fear of failure.
