Seasons and allergies
She woke up 5am to an intense itching in the left ear, quite strange it’s the first time she’s experiencing such; with no time to process the whole thing she goes in search of an immediate relief.
With that accomplished, she thought it was over but it seemed to spread reaching the ears, nose, throat and eyes. Afraid it may be pointing to something worse, she goes to the Hospital for a check up and voila turns out she’s having allergies, most likely triggered by the change in season. The moment it was discovered, it was taken care of.
Our lives are a function of time which is fragmented into seasons and with those seasons come allergies. The wise King stated it this way “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens” (Ecc. 3:1 NIV).
Each season is meant to usher in something new or to create a giant leap in something that’s already in process but we see time and again that with the ushering of something phenomenal comes storms and difficulties such that what was meant to be a “smooth ride” turns out rough, sometimes chaotic within and without with the devil hoping to gain an advantage; making the saying ‘nothing good comes easy’ quite popular. I like to term those allergies.
It is true that we live in a fallen world but we are not subject to it. We’ve been called out of every tribe, nation and tongue and have been called into the Kingdom of His dear son ordained as Kings and priests unto our God, oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendour.
We know that allergies must come but we understand that they are surmountable and we can go through life making them an advantage rather than a problem. For in everything, all things work together for the good of those who love God and are the called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28 paraphrase) .
The anointing you received from Him remains in you, and teaches you about all things. Wisdom for the season is made available. Glean from it and make use of it.
No ‘allergy’ is new, what you need is a ‘Guide’. So next time you have ‘allergies’ remember help is only a thought away (Psalm 139:2; 4).
